The Short Stirling is also known as the forgotten bomber over shadowed by it's contemporaries the Lancaster and the Halifax. It was the first of the heavy 4 engine bombers and saw service throughout the war. Inspite of some myths and misgivings regarding it's weak undercarriage it was versatile and loved by it's crews.
